Stop with confidence

Your most important safety system

Brakes wear a little every time you use them. Pads, rotors and brake fluid all need attention over time, and the earlier wear is caught, the simpler the repair usually is.

Pads & rotors
Wear down a little with every stop.
Regular checks
Catch wear before it affects stopping.

Our ASE certified mechanics specialize in European & domestic vehicles, and we work on all makes and models.

When to get it checked

Signs your brakes need inspection

Brakes usually give you plenty of warning. Listen and feel for these signs.

  • Squealing

A high-pitched squeal can be the built-in wear indicator on your brake pads.

  • Grinding

A harsh grinding noise can mean metal-on-metal contact. Have it checked as soon as possible.

  • Soft or sinking pedal

A pedal that feels spongy, or slowly sinks while you hold it. Treat this as urgent.

  • Pulling or vibration

The vehicle pulls to one side, or the pedal pulses when you brake.

Tip: write down when it happens and what you noticed, and tell us when you call.

It depends on the vehicle, the pads fitted and how and where you drive. Your owner's manual lists inspection intervals, and any of the warning signs above is a reason to have them checked.

Not always. Light squeaks after rain or on a cold morning can be normal. A squeal that keeps coming back is worth checking.

It can mean low brake fluid, a problem in the anti-lock (ABS) system, or that the parking brake is on. Check your owner's manual, and have it looked at if it stays on.

Every vehicle and every problem is different, so we look at your vehicle first and then talk you through the cost. Call 224-269-5090 to ask about your vehicle.
